This is a historical rendering of the mission San Rafael which in the beginning was a hospital. The Priests took the ailing Native Americans across the bay from San Francisco Mission and tended them at San Rafael. This painting shows a Christmas Eve Mass.
This painting is part of the California Mission Series that i did many years ago.
